Winter Warmers

It's officially winter!
Although it has been cold for a while, apparently winter only really started yesterday, which was also the shortest day in the year.
In winter we tend to get stuck inside so here are some things you could do inside on those cold winter days!

First off, unless it's raining or snowing really bad, there's nothing actually stopping you from going outdoors. A walk in the cold can be quite nice, you get fresh air and you could collect things like pine cones or some pine sprigs to decorate with. I love the feeling of walking into your warm house after a walk in the cold air.

  • There's nothing like the smell of something baking in the oven, so why not bake something.
  • Try a new recipe or make something that you've made many times before.
  • Have a hot bath! When I do this I normally do it in the evening when it's dark so I can light some tea light candles. Put on relaxing music, have a drink nearby, pour a few drops of a soothing essential oil, lean back and soak!
  • Do some scrap booking. I don't have an assigned scrapbook but I do like to do this sometimes.
  • Go to the library. Obviously this does involve going out but when you come back you'll have some books to read, which leads me on to the next thing.
  • Read!! It's a great thing to do in winter.
  • Make a warm drink! Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Hot Apple cider etc.
  • Take indoor photos. Arrange some of your favourite things and SNAP! Or just walk around your house and take photos of anything from your bookshelves to the kitchen cutlery.
  • Listen to music while organising something eg: your desk. This will take a while, you might stumble upon old notebooks, drawing or things you made and it'll be fun looking back at them.

I hope these will help you enjoy winter a bit more.
